Board Members
President, Rosa Ramírez : Rosa García-Ramírez has been an active volunteer with FLDW since 2019, when her three children joined FLDW. She has served the board in various capacities such as activities coordinator, annual show coordinator, and secretary. She’s a Woodland resident and has vast knowledge of the dynamics of the community. As Board President, Rosa oversees the operation of the organization, leads monthly board and general meetings, and provides feedback and ideas for the success of FLDW. Rosa states, “I love how FLDW connects us to our culture and allows us to teach others about our beautiful Mexican Culture.”
Vice President, Yesenia Perez: Yesenia Perez is serving her second term as Vice President. Yesenia began volunteering with the group when her daughter started dancing six years ago and at one point was the Board Secretary. As Vice President, Yesenia is in charge of booking and scheduling performances and managing the facility in terms of the facility lease, utilities, upkeep, and providing feedback and ideas for the success of FLdW.
Treasurer, Fernando Castro: Fernando has been dancing and volunteering with FLdW for over 25 years. During his tenure, he has served in several different board positions, therefore his knowledge and input has been essential to the success of FLdW. Fernando's creativity and knowledge of folklorico will be key to putting together this year's annual showcase, due to many new regulations and policies that will be in place. Fernando is also the proud parent of one of the youth FLdW members.
Secretary, Hillary Alejo:
Fundraising Coordinator, Belinda Ramirez: Belinda Ramirez is in her second year as the Fundraising Coordinator. She began volunteering with FLdW when her sons began dancing in 2019. As Fundraising Coordinator, Belinda organizes annual fundraising efforts such as the FLdW Fireworks booth, the open auction and raffle sales at the annual showcase, researches potential fundraising opportunities, and develops sponsorship letters.
Grant Writer, Danielle Chapman: Danielle Chapman is in her third year serving as the Grant Writer. Her expertise comes from managing grant funds and reviewing grant proposals for the last five years, as well as producing grant proposals during her graduate program at Sacramento State University. Danielle researches grants relevant to FLdW and ensures the group meets grant qualifications and works with the Board President and Board Treasurer when applying for grants. She is starting her fourth year of dancing with FLdW which has assisted her in becoming familiar with the mission, core values, and goals of the organization.
Web/Social Media, Arturo Rodriguez: Arturo Rodriguez is going on his third year of being FLdW's Web/Social Media/Historian Coordinator. For the last seven years, Arturo has been an active adult dancer and has always assisted with web and media-related projects, therefore it was a natural fit for him to be in this role. Arturo manages and updates FLdW's website and creates promotional content to be shared on the group's website and social media pages. Arturo states "FLdW allows me to enjoy my culture while dancing with my friends."

Social/Activities Coordinator, Nicolasa Vargas: Nicolasa began dancing folklorico in 2012 to feel more connected with her culture and community. As the Social/Activities Coordinator, she strives to bring forth cultural knowledge while incorporating community support and fun among all dancers. Nicolasa provides these opportunities through social gatherings within the group (when safe) and brainstorms new and innovative ways to create a cohesive bond between the different dance cohorts.
Adult Wardrobe Coordinator, Lucia Becerra: Lucia Becerra is going on her second year as the Adult Wardrobe Coordinator. She began volunteering with FLdW over seven years ago when her sister and husband joined the adult group. Her role is essential to the success of the annual showcase; Lucia organizes costumes for all adult dancers, assists the adult instructor and artistic director in ordering new costumes or needed accessories, and assists adults behind stage during the showcase.
Youth Wardrobe Coordinator, Francesca "Fran" Rios: In addition to her role as the Beginning Youth Instructor, Fran is also serving her second year as the Youth Wardrobe Coordinator. Similar to the adult wardrobe coordinator, Fran organizes costumes for all youth dancers, assists the artistic director in ordering new costumes or needed accessories, creates some of the region's costumes for youth, and assists youth dancers behind stage during the showcase.
